Collecting baseball cards has experienced many booms in business over the last 40 or 50 years. Baseball cards have been around since the early 1900s and collectors clamor and are passionate about collecting the best baseball cards for their collections. Back in the middle 1990s baseball card grading was born as a business model. What is baseball card grading?

Baseball card grading companies assign a grade to your baseball card and generally secured in an acrylic holder for prosperity. The cards are checked for condition as well as authenticity. For example, baseball card material back in the 70s and 80s was very soft and the material or cardboard was exceptionally easy to damage. Therefore, if you have a card out of a 1970 Topps set, and it is in mint condition the value of the card goes up significantly. That is because there are very few 1970 baseball cards that are in that kind of condition. Mint condition requires the card to have for sharp corners, centering of 60/40 or better, no print spots, or any other blemishes. The image must be crisp and in focus.
